Little Egret - Hesketh Outer Marsh, Lancs - 22nd July 2005.

This ad Little Egret was a nice sight as it flew past me on it's way upriver .

Caspian Tern, Leighton Moss RSPB, Lancs - 16th July 2005.

This awesome bird was the first Lancashire record since 1979, all previous four of which have come from Leighton Moss. The bird showed well on the Eric Morecambe pools complex, but would fly onto the main reserve to feed.

Sooty Tern, Cemlyn Lagoon, Anglesey - 10th July 2005.

Temperatures were well in the eighties for this twitch for the Sooty Tern which had thankfully (inevitably?) decided to spend time in this Tern colony on mainland Anglesey, having previously been seen on the nearby Skerries, c2miles offshore of Carmel Head. Great bird at a favourite site.
