Little Terns - Crosby Marina, Merseyside - 27th August 2006.

A circular walk around Crosby Marina for a 1.5hrs early afternoon were rewarded with views of the adult & juvenile Little Terns that had been present for the past couple of days. I haven't seen many in Lancs personally, so these were very welcome. The birds fed in front of the Yacht Club but twice left the marina heading for Seaforth / the Mersey. Also present were several Common Tern (many more were present through the fence at Seaforth). A check of all the Gulls present around the marine lake failed to locate the Ring-billed Gull (my third attempt for this species at the site this year) or any other Gull species of interest.
