Black-throated Thrush - Buckton, East Yorkshire - 26th March 2007
Above & below: a couple of videograbs showing the colour of the underwing coverts.
Despite several twitchable birds in recent years, the only views I have ever had of this form are untickable views of a female nr Sheringham, Norfolk, in the early 1990's. So when news broke of this bird, I was keen to see it and travelled to Buckton the following morning courtesy of Tim & Janet Davie.

The Thrush was never close but gave perfectly good scope views. Due to the distance I could only obtain camcorder videograbs.
A few of the assembled birders, with the duckpond at Hoddy Cow Lane in the background.
The black-throated Thrush favoured the area of pasture below the large Gorse clump, between the left hand end and the smaller isolated clump.
Next stop was North Duffield Carrs where distant views were had of a drake American Wigeon, consorting with hundreds of Eurasian Wigeon. 2 ad Whooper Swan, several Ruff and Dunlin and a good assortment of other Wildfowl were noted.
Finally, a check of the Gull roost at Wheldrake Ings produced this 1stw Iceland Gull.
